This is life

I received a great Christmas present today that really made my day!  A couple of weeks ago, I sent presents to my family in California.  Today, I received a Christmas/Birthday card from them.  They said how much they like the gifts, and that my grandma misses me and loves the purse I bought her.  I glanced at the signatures on the right, and gasped a little with delight when I saw my grandmother’s signature on the card, which made the Korean teacher next to me look over perplexed.  It surprised me because my grandmother can’t write any English, and the only thing she writes is her signature.  She’s near 80, and has lived in the States for over 20 years, but she’s definitley not profient in reading or writing, by any means.  It was really cool that my aunts and uncles signed the card, because I never receive anything in the mail from them, and this was a first.  I don’t talk to my family all the time, which has been fine by me and them.  I’m just not the type to call all the time.  The card today just made me really miss my family because even though we don’t talk all the time, I know that they miss me and love me.  A sappy entry???  Sure, but you need moments like that to help you remember what’s important in life.

I also had a great day at school, even though I was blowing my nose all through class due to my cold.  During one class, I even had a bloody nose.  But I refused to jam the tissue up my right nostril.  I tactfully went to the bathroom to clean myself up.  In all my classes, we sang Christmas carols, made cut-out Santa Clauses, and even played Twister!  The students made me participate in Twister, even though I’m sick and almost pulled some kind of back muscle the last time I played.  It’s funny because these 4th graders are trying to push me over, but I use my weight and size to push into them and make them fall on their butts!  Hahaha!!  They think they can beat me.

I AM THE CHAMPION!!!
