Rory’s new CD cover

Monday is Memorial Day, so it’s a long 3 day weekend here. Today I didn’t do much, but tomorrow I drive three hours north, to Seattle. Renee is having an all-day layover in Seattle, on her way back to Edmonton. For the last 3 or 4 weeks, she’s been vacationing in Thailand. I’m also picking up Raswan from SEATAC too, who’s been in Florida visiting his family. I’m really excited to have this mini trip and see the both of them. The three of us haven’t hung out for two years or more, when Renee was still in Korea. I’ll definitely have some pictures to post on Tuesday, when I get back. Hope everyone has a great holiday! In the meantime…
At the end, her mouth is messed up - referrring to cold sores she gets. Picture here and here. If you watched Oprah, you could still see a faint hint of it.
I had to watch this video over and over to understand what was going on, since I don’t understand Japanese. Then I tried five or sixe times folding a shirt, and finally did it!
http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/fold.php
Instructions:
Stand to one side of the shirt. Imagine a line that runs from the middle of the shoulder furthest away from you, to the bottom of the shirt. Then imagine another line exactly halfway inbetween the top of the shirt and the bottom. With your left hand, pinch the shirt at the point where those lines intersect. With your right hand, grab a piece of the shirt at the shoulder. Don’t let go.
This is where it gets tricky. With your right hand, fold the shirt over and have it touch the bottom of the shirt. Your right hand is over your left, and your left hand is hidden under the shirt. You’re now holding the shoulder seam and the bottom hem together. You can adjust your left hand to make sure the shirt is taut and folded in the middle.
Now, pull the hidden left hand out from underneath towards you. Then fold the loose arm underneath. Voila!
Reardon and I don’t write a lot of emails to each other, but when he does send one, it always seems to make me laugh out loud. He has a really dry, sarcastic sense of humor, which I like. It’s pretty surprising for a guy that rises with the sun to do pilates on his balcony, then volunteers his Saturdays at the local Korean retirement home and does magic tricks for the ladies whose sons are too busy to visit. I wrote a note to him, saying that I’d be coming to Korea this summer to teach at an English camp. His reply:
This will be a disaster.
You know that Melvin has been fuming ever since he read on your blog that you’re planning on marrying a tall white dude. He thought you had a special connection and he’s liable to be on a bent to prove it to you. Just so you know, I think he’s a little
bit perturbed about being cut of your potential Bachelor’s list solely on account of being short and brown.
That’s funny. Especially since Melvin is married.
