I’m a major procrastinator, and should really be focusing on studying for my two midterms on Tuesday.  Instead, I’ll post these pictures of the asian pears I was picking from our backyard.  At my brother’s house, there are five asian pear trees, and two persimmons.  Not all the trees bear fruit as big as the one I took a picture of, but they’re all sweet, juicy, and crunchy.  The one in the picture was over 1 pound (445 g).  Yum!

Any chance you could ship a crate of those to Tokyo?

    Can’t hurt to ask…

Asian pears are pretty expensive in Asia. It was always a “treat” for me to buy a big one at the store in Korea.

Actually, I was thinking of leaving a boxful outside the house, and having people take some. Knowing the Asian mind, some sheisty Asian will surely take the whole box.

I’ll gladly give some to anyone who lives near me.

My dad grows Asian pears too, although they’re smaller than the ones they sell in Korea.

My boss gave me a big box for Chuseok, and I was sooooo excited . . . until they gave me stomach aches. Probably shouldn’t have eaten them with every meal.

As usual, your pictures are gorgeous! Hope you post more often.

Thanks Pia. I know… my posts have been few and far between lately, but there have actually been a lot of things I *could* post about. Just been lazy with school.
