Asian pear season The Japanese Garden: a sneak peek
Oct 30

I was checking my feeds this morning and got sucked into reading a post about all TVs at Best Buy being 30% off on Black Friday.  Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, and the biggest shopping day of the year.  Everyone on the forum was drooling about the plasma TVs they were going to buy.  This got me thinking about the last HUGE TV I saw.  It was almost two months ago when I was coming back from Thailand.  I was visiting my grandmother in California and my aunt asked me,

Have you seen the new TV yet?

No, what TV?

(we walk over to the next room, and I peer around the corner…)

HOLY CRAP!!!  THAT THING IS HUGE!

For reference, my uncle is about 5′10″.  And yes, he spilled his drink on his shorts.

It was a 72 inch HDTV Plasma TV.  My uncle bought it, but wouldn’t tell anyone how much it was.  He’s afraid that grandma will be angry at him for spending so much money on a TV.  AT least she doesn’t need glasses when watching TV anymore.  I told my uncle that he better be careful because someone might come and steal it.  His reply?  “Good luck trying.  They had to use a forklift to bring it into the house.”
