iPod Shuffle Almost time
Nov 23

The days seem to fly by! Usually on the weekends, I just relax. That’s why you don’t see a post for chunks of days. Especially since my weekends are four days, I make the most of it by sleeping in and staying up late. This week, I only had one day of classes, due to the long Thanksgiving holiday. Today, Ras and I drove down to Junction City to spend Turkey Day with his family. Since my family isn’t big on “western” holidays, we don’t do too much. When we were younger, my brothers and I tried to do the “American” thing and force my parents to have a Thanksgiving dinner. How could we recap our Thanksgiving with friends at school if we didn’t have one? My mom would cook the turkey, while my brothers and I tried to partake in cooking some dishes. Since we knew what a Thanksgiving dinner was supposed to look like, we tried to emulate it with Stove Top Stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, and some kind of pre-cooked pie. That was our attempt. Nowadays, we’d be lucky to have everyone in one place to have a meal at a restaurant. (One brother has moved out, and another is studying at the University of Oregon - 2 hours away.)

In Junction City, we’re staying with Ellen, Ras’ aunt. She also shares a house with Ras’ sister, Rose, and her husband, Bill. While Bill was still at work, the four of us starting pre-cooking for Thanksgiving.

The finished product - Pumpkin Pie. We made three, since there is supposed to be 14 people here tomorrow.

I’m going to eat WAY too much food tomorrow and just enjoy myself. Then on Friday, I’ll do some shopping and get back to my regular schedule. Next week is Dead Week - the week before finals. My finals finish on December 5th, and then I’m done for the winter. So… I’ll be catching up on LOTS of emails on Friday. Sorry that I haven’t replied yet.

Your post has left me dreaming of the fantastic Thanksgiving dinner that you and Ras cooked up at my apartment in Kangnueng a few years ago! SO…good, and there was such a beautiful sunset that night! Wish I could be there when you actually have a supply pool bigger than E-mart-eh.
