Last night it snowed a little bit, but today turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day (but cold). Today, I’m listening to Valentine’s Day Mix from Finetune (made by Whitney from PopCandy). Check out Finetune - it’s the new Pandora. Instead of playing random music, Finetune lets you create playlists that can be share with others.
Wishing you all a day full of handmade valentines, chocolate cupcakes, and love.

Valentine’s Day was crazy in my classroom. As much as I tried to keep it low key, when you combine hyper students who have had to stay inside all day because it’s too cold, snacks, and cards, you have a handful! We haven’t had any snow for a few days, but yesturday the temperature was -7C, but with the windchill it was -30C! Hence no outdoor recess for the kids

Oh, I miss those Valentine cards kids had to hand out in grade school. And then you get to put them in the decorated shoe boxes. Good memories!
What kind of goodies did the kids give you?

I didn’t get too many goodies outside of the little Valentine’s cards. I did get a little heart shaped, velvet lined box and a box of chocolates. After Christmas I have decided if I can’t eat the gift, or redeem it for merchandise at a store, then I don’t want it. Haha…I’m almost kidding! What do you do with the hideous snow globe, or the fish-shaped jeweled book mark, or odd tea lights that your students give you? At least if it’s chocolate, you can eat it without worrying about it matching your home decor!
