You’ve got to check out these amazing color pictures of Daegu, Korea from 1954.  There are four pages of photos.  The link was posted on The Marmot’s Hole and has also been picked up by other Korean internet sites.  For anyone that’s ever lived in Korea, it’s so interesting to see how how much has changed in 53 years.  South Korea is now the 11th richest country in the world, but half a century ago, it looked like this:

    I have lived in Daegu. The before and after photos amaze with and help me keep my chin up when feeling low- after a glance at the korean transformation, I feel reassured that nothing is impossible with human effort and I get back to work with zeal.
