Thank you for sharing this site. Have you ordered from them before? I’m an avid reader but there are not any English book stores in Okpo unfortunately. This should help a ton.

I’ve ordered from What the Book before, but didn’t get it shipped. I picked it up from them in Itaewon instead.

Six hundred magazines–that’s almost two different reads a year! Yeah, they’re expensive, but more so at other bookstores in Korea.

I’ve ordered books–okay, graphic novels–from WTB too, and picked them up from their store.

I think there was some news about the store owner expanding his business outside of Korea, to cater to other expat communities. Anyway, that bookstore was my favorite place in Itaewon.

This comment isn’t a direct response to your WHAT The BOOK post but allows me to tell you that your QUOTABLE QUOTES and OTHER QUOTES columns are fun features. I’d like to share some quotations that continue to amuse, inform and inspire me:

“I believe we should all behave quite differently if we lived in a warm, sunny climate all the time.”–Laura Jesson

“I have always found the sea, in whatever mood it was in, good and sufficient company.”–Alec Guinness

“Don’t let anyone rob you of your imagination, your creativity or your curiosity. It’s your place in the world, it’s your life. Go on and do all you can with it, and make it the life you want to live.”–Mae Jamison

“The dedicated life is the life worth living. You must give with your whole heart.”–Annie Dillard

“One cannot have too large a party.”–Jane Austen

I definitely believe this is true:

“I believe we should all behave quite differently if we lived in a warm, sunny climate all the time.”–Laura Jesson

Thanks for the quotes. In middle school, I would keep a book of quotes I collected. It was interesting to go back and read what was meaningful to me at the time.

I still have my book of quotes and scribblings. After re-reading them, I think I was dropped on my head as a baby.
