Hi Seoul Festival - Starts this weekend

Korea, Seoul

Tour 2 Korea tells me that April and May are the perfect months for festivals. I guess that’s lucky for me, since I love festivals. This weekend is the start of the Hi-Seoul Festival (English site or Korean site). So, guess where I’ll be this weekend? I don’t think the festival will be as international as what the Seoul city government is hoping for, but it should be fun nonetheless. Last year’s Hi Seoul Festival brought one of, if not THE most beautiful day I’ve seen in Seoul. It was warm, sunny, and the air actually felt clean. That’s where I took this picture, right in front of Kyobo Bookstore. The road was blocked off and I was able to stand in the normally busy street. Look! You can even see hills in the background! Who knew they were even there?  There’s lots more detailed information about the festival HERE.

The general

In addition to the festival, ten of us are going to the 4:00 pm showing of Cirque du Soleil on Saturday. Plans were made yesterday and tickets were bought today. We’ll be in the “S-section” and the tickets were around 66,000 won. The most expensive tickets were 110,000 won. There is a 10% discount if you pay with a Shinhan credit card.

Update: We had to cancel because one of Jenay’s friends from Canada wouldn’t make it. We’re going the following Saturday instead. No problem.

It’s going to be a lot of fun this weekend!
