Hey I just noticed your cbox comment about Facebook. I joined it when I started grad school and was somewhat skeptical about it, but it’s really a great tool for keeping in touch with people, especially when you are overseas and all your friends are scattered across the globe.
All of my classmates and I use it religiously and have formed a group so that our graduating class can stay in touch with each other and keep current on what everyone is doing.
If you haven’t joined yet, I’d encourage you to. It’s probably the most useful web site I’ve joined in a few years.
