I woke up Saturday to clear blue skies. It was too nice of a day NOT to go outside. After some phone calls and text messages, Ras and I gathered our things and headed up to Seoul to meet Mat for lunch at the USO. We reached Samgakji Station and took exit 10, only to arrive at the Canteen and find that it’s not open on the weekends. Doh! Well, that’s ok. Mat picked up some magazines for a friends and we left, deciding what to do next. Ras had to meet Brad in Itaewon, so I went with Mat to have lunch near his apartment in Sinchon. Oddly enough, Mat lives a block away from former Korean president, Kim Dae-jung! Yeah, the “Nelson Mandela of Asia”, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, lives in some random neighborhood in Sinchon. I was wondering why there was a guard outside some apartment building. On the way to Ruby Tuesday, we passed by some more traditional markets.

Then lunch:

I then took the 110 bus to meet Raswan, Brad, and Philippe on the rooftop bar of Nashville in Itaewon. The weather was GORGEOUS, and thy sky was so blue.
