Check it out, In the News

The world is voting on these 21 sites for the new Seven Wonders of the World.

I’ve been to five of the nominees.  The Great Wall was the most memorable, because we got to hike the original, crumbling Great Wall, which the government doesn’t let you do anymore.

The Acropolis of Athens; Greece
Alhambra; Granada, Spain
Angkor Wat; Cambodia
Great Wall; China
Statue of Liberty; New York City

I’ve been to both ends of the Great Wall (well before they discovered the new eastern end) and camped out somewhere in the middle. It is an amazing construction but I would have thought Angkor Wat would me more impressive if only because the wall is after all only a wall…..let me know your thoughts.

The Great Wall was the most memorable because I was able to do something most packaged tourists don’t get to do.

But of those 5, which one was the “best” and lived up to being a Wonder of the World? Definitely Angkor Wat. We bought a 3 day pass, and there was still so much to see at the end of that time. The architecture was so intricate and amazing.

I wonder how Angkor Wat compares to Machu Picchu…
