Halloween is a little boring this year, since it’s on a Wednesday. I taught an afternoon kids class and we made masks and then the kids watch SpongeBob for the last hour. I don’t know what the big appeal is, but that cartoon is pretty boring.

I wanted to upgrade to Leopard on Tuesday, but ended up have to do a full install when I received the “blue screen of death,” along with many others. It wasn’t too big of a deal, since I had already backed up everything before attempting the upgrade. Things seem to be running smoothly, but I’ll have to wait until this weekend to personalize and browse the new operating system. By the way, have I told you yet how much I LOVE my Mac?
Last weekend’s KOTESOL conference came and went without any fanfare. Myself, and five other colleagues showed up at Sookmyung University for the two day event. I picked up a decent amount of sample books, but not nearly as much as when I went to the Oregon TESOL conference. Thompson Publishing just delivered a box of books to the office the other day. They’ve been really helpful, especially since our university changed our conversation books to World Link. The World Link series has been great and I’d highly recommend them.
On Saturday night, we ended up going over to Brad and Jesse’s for a barbecue in Itaewon. Oh man, the food was good! Things got started late and I was waaay too tired to go out with everyone when they left at midnight. Ras went out and said there were so many people dressed up and so many Halloween parties. Curtis was there with his Japanese friends and had on a crazy clown costume that I heard was pretty impressive. All the gays were out on Homo Hill and Brad commented, “Yeah, who said there were no gays in Korea?” I guess Ras had a pretty good time, since they didn’t get back until 4:30 am.
We got our pants back from the tailor, and we’re very happy with them. Ras went down to Songtan today and dropped some more things to get altered. He’s also thinking about getting another pair of pants made, in which case the owner will mail them to us. In front of Osan’s main gate, there’s a “Y” intersection and that’s where you’ll find our new tailor of choice - Angel Cutom Tailoring (Angel Lee, 031-666-6782, cem7010 (at) hanmail.net, 298-58 Shinjang-dong, Pyongtaek, Gyeongi-do 459-120).
Last, but not least, I picked up this phone charging holder at a Korean store for 2000 won ($2 USD) today. This is an example of Korean reverse engineering at its best, and at a discount for me!
