Wow, that's great. It'd be fun to cook one, since it's the first oven I've had since being in Korea. Unfortunately it looks like I'll be at other people's places for turkey dinners this year.

Thanks for the info. BTW, Costco is selling some pretty big turkeys here in Daejeon (20-25lbs.) for about 44,000 won. Now, if I had an actual oven to cook it in. I guess, I can break off pieces and try out the toaster oven.

I heard about the Republican dinner, but I'm having Thanksgiving dinner with friends the following weekend (Nov. 24th). They've got connections to the base and that's where we're getting out turkey.

BTW - The Daejoen-Chungnam KOTESOL Chapter is having a Thanksgiving dinner on Sat, Nov. 24 at Sun Moon University (Asan, 5 minutes by taxi from Cheonan-Asan KTX station). It's 20,000 for non-member, and 15,000 won for members. More here: http://www.kotesol.org/?q=uieforum&c=showthread&ThreadID=23

If you still want more turkey, the Seoul KOTESOL chapter is having a Christmas dinner at 6:00 PM, Saturday December 15th, 2007. KOTESOL members 25,000 won, non-members 35,000 won.

Turkey Dinner Menu

Cream of mushroom soup with rolls
Swedish meatballs
Green salad
Lasagne
. Turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetables
A choice of pumpkin pie OR chocolate cake
Coffee/Tea

What are you doing this weekend? After last year's turkey free year here in Daejeon, I'm thinking of making a trek up to Seoul and joining The Republicans Abroad Annual Thanksgiving dinner on the 17th: http://gopkorea.blogs.com/gop/2007/11/annual-republic.html

I hope it's worth the price of a KTX ticket and braving the cold weather. Do you know of anyone who has attended the event in the past? I hope the turkey is juicy and worth it. Anyway I hope to hit What the book? and Yoricome. I also hope that they are worth it.
