We went to Costco today and dropped 166,000 won, which is a small amount for us.  That’s probably because we didn’t buy any wine, chicken, or steak this time.  This Rabbit Corkscrew was part of the purchase though.  Reardon called us yuppies because of it.  Hey you can call me whatever you want, but I’ve never opened a wine bottle so easily before!  Also, John from Daejeon told me about turkeys at the Costco location there, and I found four at the Yangjae store.

It’s about 41,000 won for a 16 1/2 pound turkey.  It looks like we’ll be eating a Costco turkey at Jenay’s when we go over for Thanksgiving dinner this Sunday.  Then next Saturday, we go over to Brad’s for another Thanksgiving dinner.  I’m getting very sleepy already…

I woke up this morning with a cold - not fun.  I’ll be going to bed by 9:30 pm tonight and will hopefully feel better on Thursday.  Tomorrow all the foreign teachers are going to to a buffet lunch with the president.  I’ll have to remind my co-worker to bring his copy of her book.  He jokingly mentioned wanting her to sign it and then putting it up on eBay.

Other stuff:

  • Marvel Comics has released more than 2,500 back issues of comics for a $9.99 monthly fee.  Don’t know which one to read first?  Damon Lindelof of Lost has some suggestions.
  • Do you have some theories on where Heroes is going?  Talk about the November 12th episode here.  The show is finally starting to pick up, but can somebody kill Nikki already?
  • Speaking of Heroes, doesn’t “Sylar” look just like a young Leonard Nemoy???  This new Star Trek movie is going to be pretty interesting, since Winona Ryder is slated to play Spock’s mother!  I was never a Star Trek fan, but my brother was.  With a new, young cast, I’m willing to give it another chance.

  1. John from Daejeon Says:

I don’t think I cried when I saw my first turkey here in South Korea, but I did pick one up and hug the hell out of it which nearly froze my arms off in my moment of joy.
