It’s New Year’s Eve and my birthday today. I’m in Boracay and about to go on the last dive of the year in 20 minutes.

Tonight we celebrate with an all-you-can-eat buffet of oysters, salmon, shrimp, turkey, grilled white marlin, beef tenderloin kebabs, grilled squid, roasted whole pig, and lots more. There will be lots of fireworks and music on the island tonight. I can’t wait.
I hope everyone had a wonderful year. See you next year!

We leave the apartment in about 15 minutes to go catch the airport limousine bus at 5:15am. I’m all packed: 2 Eagle Creek Pack-It cubes, my toiletry kit, and one Bill Bryson book. I’m not bringing much, since it’s only two weeks.
We’ll be diving for a week and then doing nothing for a week in Boracay. I’m not sure how much I’ll be blogging, if any at all. Of course there’ll be lots of pictures upon my return.
Merry Christmas everyone!

I hope everyone in Korea had a good day off due to it being election day. Can you tell what apartment I live in? Hint: It’s the only one which doesn’t have election ballot information.

Usually I wake up at 6am, but today I slept in until 7am. I just can’t sleep in late anymore. Around noon, we went over to Thomas’ today and Ras tried to help him set up his stereo. Thomas has this cute cocker spaniel. When I first met her, I cooed, “Hey you!” “Thomas, what’s her name?” - Hey You!

Afterwards, we had lunch of shabu shabu before going to our apartment.

Thomas had agreed to come help us paint our patio. We had been meaning to paint it for months. Mold had started to grow on one section of the wall a month ago, and it became stained. We finally got around to fixing that today.

Tomorrow is our last school obligation before flying to the Philippines on Friday morning. To tell you the truth, I haven’t packed a single thing yet. I’ll get to that tomorrow.

I had a lot of fun playing around with FindYourFutureYou.com.

That’s one big squid! I wonder what a 6 meter squid tastes like. It makes you wonder what other gigantic creatures are under the sea.

53 Places to go to in 2008, and Laos made the list. As Time Magazine said, “Vietnam and Cambodia are so 2007.”

A slideshow of the perfect steak, which is from hand reared oxen fed on acorns and dry aged for three months. Hmm, I wonder what primordial tastes like.

South Korea’s worst oil spill is one third the size of the Exxon Valdez spill in Alaska.
