Do you know? Cirque du Soleil, here we come!

It’s been awhile, hasn’t it?  Here’s what I’ve been doing for the last two months.

July

  • worked my university’s kid’s came for four week.  2-7pm, Monday through Thursday.
  • celebrated Bart’s birthday at “Dart Bar” on July 4th
  • took a four week photography class with Michael Hurt.
  • went to the Seoul Museum of Art with Barbara and Amy.
  • received my new summer bikini in the mail.
  • got my hair done in Hongdae.
  • went bowling in Suwon and ended up at “The Crazy Duck”

August

  • was in Daejeon for the first two weeks.  Boy, was it hot!
  • saw Dark Knight with John one of those days.
  • went to a first year birthday party for David’s daughter
  • went to Cory’s birthday party in Hongdae & ended up at in indoor “water bar.”
  • went bowling again, this time in Gunpo.
  • my Praktica CX-2 arrived in the mail.  Excited about cross-processing!
  • went browsing for lenses with The Metropolitician and had dinner at TGI Fridays.
  • had lunch at On The Border for the first time with Mat.
  • went to a potluck at Pete’s and caught up with him, Kristy, & Dave.
  • explored the “reptile market” in Dongdaemun with Mat and Ras.  (A more accurate name would be “fish and bird area of Dongdaemun, with some occasional reptiles“.)
  • cooled down at Caribbean Bay with Ras and Reardon.
  • enjoyed a Thursday at the Hamilton Pool with Ras and Kevin.
  • had drinks at Gecko’s, Nashville’s rooftop, and ended the night on Brad’s rooftop.  The boys had a heated discussion on politics and race in America while I stuffed my cheeks full of pistachios.
  • we wanted to have lunch at All-American Diner, but waited 45 minutes and still no food!  They said it would be another 20-30 minutes because there was only 1 person cooking.  Ourselves and 2 other parties walked out.  Went to McDonald’s instead.
  • barbecued outside at Chakhangogi with the Suwonites and Bart.

Even though I’ve been working for two weeks now, tomorrow starts my full schedule.  This semester, I’ve basically have Wednesdays and Fridays off.  I say “basically” because I have a “speaking lab” I have to conducts at 10am on Wednesday.  After that, I’m off for the day.  Yes, it sucks to have to work for only one hour on Wednesday, but I actually don’t mind it since I’m up early during the week anyway.  So, this semester, Ras and I both have Wednesdays and Fridays off.  It’s a nice schedule to have for my last semster in Korea.

I hope everyone’s September is starting off well.
