Bud opening
Today was the first day it actually felt like Spring had arrived. You could walk around campus without a jacket, even though a cool wind was blowing. I can’t wait for more days like this.

Mat and I took a walk in between classes to Home Mart, our local grocery store. We browsed the offerings for sale along the way, which included these socks for a measly $1. I would have immediately bought them, but too bad I already have 3 pairs. You can never have too many "F*ck you!" [...]
I can’t believe it’s snowing – just when I thought it was spring. This winter, we had 73 inches of snow, which fell within a two week period. I highly doubt we’ll even get half an inch today, but it’s odd, nonetheless. Today I’m doing some spring cleaning of my computer. I need to re-organize [...]
For the duration of this week, students can find out their semester grades, and we (the teachers) have the opportunity to change them, if we somehow made a mistake. Instead of students calling or emailing us to say we made an error in their grade, these Korean freshman are begging us to change their grades. [...]
3 days, and it’s still snowing lightly. I wish it would snow heavily like it did the first night. Powdery snow is beautiful… I just don’t want to walk in the slush when it starts to melt.
I’ve got a lot to blog about, with most of it regarding my loooong weekend trip to Kangneung with Raswan. I’ll have to do that later tonight. The big news of the day, is all the snow that fell yesterday in Kunsan while we were gone. I just wanted to post a picture I took [...]
Tomorrow is the last day of Freshman class presentations. My assignment was to have students work alone, or with a group, to give a 3 minute presentation about anything we’ve studied this term. Most of them have just been reading from notes, and not even looking up at the class. Others have been great. My [...]
Adnan, Saman, Raswan, and I went looking for a kalbi restaurant for lunch today. We went into one restaurant and found out that the cheapest price was 19,000 won ($19 USD) per 150 grams of beef. At a normal pork restaurant, a serving size for one person is about 200 grams. This was less food, [...]
These are two of the teachers I work with, Adnan and Mathew. Mat and I dropped by a Biology exhibition in our building. Oddly enough, there were two stuffed chickens that looked out of place with microscopes and petri dishes. Here’s a microscopic view of a fly. If the microscope isn’t scientific enough for you, [...]
