I’m headed to Seoul tonight, and then fly out to Bali on Tuesday morning.  Ooooh, I’m starting to get exciting!  I look forward to hot days near the equatorial sun, where the back of my knees sweat just from standing around.

Link: Bloggies >> Fifth Annual Weblog Awards.

The Bloggies nominees are here.  This is an annual award, in 30 categories, given to the best blogs online.  I like browsing the nominees just to get ideas for layouts and formats.  Voting is happening NOW and ends Thursday, February 3rd.  The winners will be announced between March 13 and 15.  Browsing the  nominees from the 2003 Bloggies, is what made me want to start blogging a year ago.  It’s really a great place to look, if you want to start one yourself. 

One of my favorite award categories, is "Best Tagline."  The nominees this year are:

1. Pesky’ Apostrophe: "Always better than an unexpected period"
2. Scaryduck: "Not scary, not a duck"
3. The Gospel According to Rhys: "Chronologically inept since 2060"
4. Dooce: "Not your average clenched-cheek sprint to the bathroom"

I’m voting for number one… but that’s because I’m a girl.  #4 would have been my second choice.

In order to procrastinate from packing for my trip, I somehow got sidetracked to updating my blog.  I’ve been meaning to do that for a couple of months now, because the blog isn’t streamlined enough for me.  The HTML was starting to get time consuming, and I wanted to fix some bugs in the system.  During the course of the last two days, I’ve realized that most people come to my website go directly to my blog.  Therefore, I’ve decided to re-organize everything and make my blog the main page.  It’s a little rushed, but I wanted to announce that I’m changing the location of my blog.  Please update your bookmarks and links.  After I finish traveling and return home to the States, I’ll transfer my old entries from blogdrive.com to this new site.  In addition, I’ll do some domain mapping, so that when visitors type www.lao-ocean.com, it will go directly to the website below.  For now, that’s what the new site will look like until I get home to update it.  I hope you like it.  Let me know what you think.
